Crock Pot Curry Chicken & Potatoes

Some of you may remember this recipe I posted a while back.  I decided to change it up a bit and add some “flare” (for lack of a better term).  Everyone knows, by now, how much I love my Crock Pot.  You can seriously put just about anything in there, set it, go about the your day, and come home to an awesome meal.  Everything is awesome!  If you haven’t seen The Lego Movie yet, you’re missing out.  With that said, below is my typical crock pot chicken & potatoes but with some additional cooking time and curry powder.

  • Ingredients:
  • 4 lbs. chicken legs
  • Salt
  • Garlic Powder
  • Curry Powder
  • Black Pepper
  • 6-8 red potatoes, wrapped in foil
  1. Wrap your potatoes in foil and place them in the bottom of the Crock Pot.  They should line the entire bottom, so if they don’t, add some more.
  2. Mix together the salt, garlic, curry, and black pepper in a large bowl.
  3. Season the chicken legs with the dry rub.
  4. Lay the chicken legs on top of the potatoes and put the lid on the Crock Pot.
  5. Set the Crock Pot for 9 hours on LOW.  I usually do 8 hours when I do regular chicken but I wanted these to have an extra hour with the extra seasoning.
  6. Remove the chicken legs, followed by the potatoes.  Be careful removing the foil on the potatoes, it will be hot and most likely still dripping from the chicken juice.

IMAG1179These were super tasty!  The skin, as usual, was nice and roasted from being in the Crock Pot.  The potatoes didn’t require ANYTHING.
